When making chicken biscuits, it's a balance to use a biscuit that's fluffy and light but still strong enough to hold together when combined with a fried chicken breast. The chicken was also very crispy without being too greasy and didn't cause the entire sandwich to fall apart. The cheese had a hard time melting, but I still liked how I could taste the sharpness from the cheddar and that it was strong enough to stand out in each bite. The chicken biscuit was huge, with a large fluffy biscuit topped with a fried chicken breast, cheddar cheese, and a scrambled egg. My order was around $6.00, but I'm sure I'll pay dearly with the healthcare I'll need later in life from eating like this. I'd also read rave reviews about the cinnamon roll so I ordered one of those for dessert. I ordered the chicken biscuit with egg and cheese, which the lady in the drive-in said is the best biscuit in town. I love cinnamon rolls in general, and the cinnamon rolls here have great icing and awesome texture -flaky and just the right amount of chewy - but they're saltier than I'd like so not my favorite. He's a born and raised Southern boy, and particular about his sweet tea - he says SBK's is some of the best he's ever had. ![]() My boyfriend is a big fan of the Bad Grampa, their special of a chicken biscuit topped with egg, cheese and bacon, a side of hashbrowns and a sweet tea. I saw another Yelper compare them to Bojangles' biscuits, the audacity! Bojangles WISHES they were on this level. I love them plain or with strawberry jelly. The biscuits here will not disappoint, fluffy, buttery and delicious. It's a real, nicely sized chicken breast, seasoned and fried to perfection on a hefty biscuit. We've had a few things off of the menu, but the chicken biscuit will always be my favorite. Over all, this is a classic breakfast joint in Chapel Hill. There is no inside seating, however if you drive across the parking lot past the Indian restaurant, there are a few picnic tables if you're so inclined to dine outside! It's a very simple establishment, drive thru only. I sometimes add a piece of chicken to the gravy biscuits, because the chicken is just that good. I have been known to swap the regular cheese on the Bad Grampa for pimento cheese - so good! I really enjoy their gravy biscuits as well. It's a huge portion of perfectly breaded chicken breast, topped with egg, cheese, and a lot of bacon! The biscuits themselves are buttery and crumbly in all the right ways. For those who don't know, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen was featured in the Johnny Knoxville film, Bad Grandpa! That's where this glorious biscuit sandwich gets its name. But even if it didn't, Sunrise biscuits are totally worth the wait. Don't be deterred by the long line, that's almost guaranteed to be backed up into the road. This is always one of my favorite stops when I'm in town.
