![]() I am limited to 30 parts in the VAB, and I only have 192k in funds. However, I'm running into a couple of problems, and I have come here not to chew bubble gum and kick butt, but instead to ask for some help. I'll be starting career mode now, and I have the rest of the solar system, so many techniques, and so many ships to explore.I am at the stage in my career game where I get a contract to do a Mun fly-by, and this coincides with the fact that I'm actually ready, from a player perspective (and not necessarily a Kerbal perspective) to actually do a Mun fly-by. So I finally did the tutorial, which went over a lot of stuff I knew already, but there I discovered SAS, finally figured out how maneuver nodes work, and sooo many other things which made moon landing easy. I was so proud then :pīut I wondered how to build a space station or dock with other ships. My first trip there and back again was from a ridiculously overpowered ship I slapped together (after much trial and error). Then it was maaany more tries until I was able to land without destroying the ship, and of course I didn't have enough fuel to to orbit, let alone back. The way I did it was to boost my orbit until it crossed the Mun's orbit.and warp while I orbited until I had a Mun encounter, then burn retrograde until I settling into orbit. I probably spent a good 12 hours just putzing around with the premade ships, during which I settled on the Kerbal X and made it to the Mun. I was so impatient to start flying through space that I couldn't read anything else yet, and only googled answers to things I got stuck on. Yeah this game is awesome! I started in sandbox mode after watching just one vid on how to get into orbit. I still have to land on Eve, send a manned mission to Duna and return, and visit the outer planets. I'm still in the beginning of my explorations. Some comments about KSP's aerodynamics are outdated, as they improved the model since then, but you'll understand how to build a plane, why your plane behaves as it does and how to fix it.Īnd you'll have fun figuring things out on your own. For me, Scott Manley's vids gave me a basic blueprint, but this You'll wonder where to place what parts and why. You'll want to build a space plane maybe. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but now I can reach orbit much more efficiently. I've been playing almost every day since december, and last night I read an article on how to control your gravity turn using only the throttle. Also some vids will teach you better ways to do what you do. Your ship will stop working and you won't know if its electricity, comms, or a 5x warp you forgot about. ![]() Eventually you'll unlock bigger engines, newer stuff you won't know what to do with. The tutorials are amazing but only get you so far. But you'll hit a few walls here and there. Send us a message with proof, and we'll give you some flair to show it!
